Certified Medication Technician (CMT) Program

Curriculum Details

The Maryland Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) Training Program is specifically tailored to prepare Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) within the Maryland DDA system for certification as Medication Technicians by the Maryland Board of Nursing.

Upon completion of the program, CMTs will acquire comprehensive knowledge in medication administration, enabling them to provide vital assistance to Registered Nurses (RN) across a spectrum of healthcare settings, including Intermediate Care Facilities, Group Homes, Individual Homes, Schools, and Assisted Living Facilities.

• Course duration: Four days (Two Weekends).
CMT Recertification: Recertification of a CMT is every two (2) years.

Trained Medication Employee (TME) Program

Curriculum Details

The District of Columbia (DC) Board of Nursing Developmental Disabilities Administration Training Program is designed to equip Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) and Certified Nursing Assistants working within the DC DDA system with the necessary skills and knowledge.
• Course duration: Two days (One Weekend).
TME Recertification: Recertification of a TME is every two (2) years, twelve (12) hours of in-service training in medication administration.

Classes are scheduled

Once a month, typically over two weekends, providing flexibility for working professionals.

Classes Are Conducted

Both virtually via Zoom and can also be arranged In Person at the Agency’s center upon request.

Certification and Licensing

Upon Successful Completion

Upon successful completion of the program, each student will receive a certificate issued by either the Maryland Board of Nursing or the District of Columbia Board of Nursing.
